Creoginity supports "GROWING FAITH in COMMUNITY" who work with local volunteers to grow fruit and vegetables to help feed vulnerable people across Manchester.

BACKGROUND to CREOGINITY:

Creoginity was set up by Franciscan Rev. David Gray as his sole trading arm to earn a living for his family while enabling his support of projects that benefit people across his home city - Manchester.

Working with sessional workers who, like himself, have been fully background checked where indicated, David provides a range of quality of life services.

David's background is in mental health, counselling, social work, homelessness, youth work and ministry. An Anglican priest for several years David, who edited Mensa Interfaith for many years and has been secretary to Faith Network for Manchester since 2004, did further training with the Interfaith Foundation.  He resigned his license to the bishop of  Manchester to join the Society of Independent Christian Ministers and was invited by Progressive Christian Alliance to become their UK servant leader. He now leads services in United Reformed Church, Anglican  Baptist, Methodist, Unitarian and Catholic settings, living his faith beyond the confines of group religion while valuing all. He is pleased that many churches are now open to such universal sharing.

Often invited to give talks to Muslim, Humanist, Hindu, Jewish and other faithfully thinking audiences, David enjoys working with people of all faiths and none feeling this enables the one human family to tackle the problems we all face and understand our connection within the wider web of life.

David's life experiences include
leading a negotiating team during a prison riot; setting up the charity Lifeshare to work among homeless people; caring for Great Apes; being Community Coordinator on the team that restored Gorton Monastery; helping establish Gorton Voice Community Choir and appearing as "Punk Monk" with Punk Rock brotherhood Goldblade at venues such as MEN Arena, the Apollo Manchester and Manchester Academy. Punk Monk has performed on the same venues as such music legends as The Damned, Badly Drawn Boy and the Stone Roses. Every Wednesday night, he co-presents "The Punk Monk & The Angle" show between 9 and 10pm with Malaika on Manchester's 106.6 FM.

David has been a veterans chaplain for a number of years and has served as a Royal British Legion branch president. He is an ATC padre and once wrote a weekly column for an M.E.N. sister paper which now appears as his Facebook notes occasional blog. As well as doing stand up comedy and laughter workshops, David is a member of the International Magicians Society.

What does "CREOGINITY" mean?

"When I coined the word "Creogin", David explains, "from Creole" (of mixed parentage) and "Pidgin" (composite language), I wanted a word to describe someone who recognises their membership of the one human family and their relationship within the wider web of life - the cosmos itself. When I started my own company, I needed a unique name that expressed the activity of someone with Creogin consciousness.  Creoginity is simply what a Creogin does by being creative and original - helping individuals and communities re-origin through shared activities such as music, art, gardening and sharing each others stories".

Creoginity was established in April 2009. We are proud to count among our clients:

  * Nursery, Primary, High, Public and Private Schools
  * Colleges and Universities
  * The Monastery Manchester
  * Faith Communities

  * Greater Manchester Police
  * GM Police Authority
  * The BBC
